NAP – Best selection of the evening
Newcastle 3.43 Jetoile (6/4)
Progressive form winning at Chepstow and Leicester before bumping into Constitution Hill in the Tolworth at Sandown in January; failed to fire in the Betfair Hurdle; this much easier and if he bounces back he will win this.
Hard to look past JETOILE here if he bounces back. I know he failed to give his running in the Betfair Hurdle at Newbury last time but that was a fiercely competitive race and he did have excuses. His form before that was quite taking winning in the style of a promising young horse at Chepstow and Leicester and then bumping into subsequent impressive Supreme winner Constitution Hill. He should have too much for these rivals and is by far and away the most likely winner for me. The danger is likely Rafferty’s Return who has won 2 of his last 3 now. An opening mark of 129 is a bit harsh though and he is going to need to improve again to trouble the favourite. Steinkraus best of the rest.

Fontwell 4.31 Raddon Top (2/1)
Likeable type who showed a great attitude to beat another nice prospect in Young Butler at Exeter last time; that win brought up the hat-trick so firmly on the upgrade now; unexposed so with more to come can win again.
The one to beat here is clearly RADDON TOP and I’m pleasantly surprised to see 2/1 on offer. That form at Exeter last time looks really good to me and with more to come he can defy a further 5lb rise in the weights. The Tin Miner will make this an end to end gallop and that should suit the selection. I can see Game Socks emerging as the danger to the favourite. He has gone off the boil recently but some of his previous form stacks up and I can see him going well as it is still relatively early days with him. Age Of Wisdom is another one worth considering but he’ll need to better that recent effort to land a blow here. The Real Jet has a squeak but was well held last time and this isn’t any easier.
Daily Double
The Daily Double consists of both the NAP and NB and is a great way of covering our two best bets of the day to maximise profit. They run at Newcastle and Fontwell on Saturday.
