Race 6 Doomben 5.07 Aidensfield (1/1)

Likeable mare who was back to near her best finishing an eye-catching second on return at Eagle Farm last time; sure to improve on that and this track likely to suit so looks to have plenty going for her against these.

Let’s get the Australian NAP back firing on Saturday! AIDENSFIELD ran as well as could have hoped on return when runner-up at Eagle Farm last month and if she builds on that I don’t see anything good enough in here to stop her going one better. She is 2 from 5 over this trip so it suits her well and she still has scope for further progress yet after just the 15 starts. Magic Ruler has disappointed the last twice but he is back from a lengthy layoff and could be an improved horse now so may well emerge as the main danger to the favourite. Smart Image is out of form but his earlier wins do stack up so I’m not entirely ruling him out either but I still think the favourite will have them covered.

Race 4 Ascot 6.22 Buster Bash (6/4)

Good looking chestnut who took his form up a notch winning impressively over C&D last time, 4 lengths clear at the line; form stacks up and with more to come can serve it up to these; looks the most likely winner.

This is quite competitive but it’s no surprise to see BUSTER BASH top the betting after that easy win last time. He looks firmly on the upgrade now so with further improvement on the cards he can follow up. He is 1 from 3 at the track and 1 from 2 over the trip and ticks plenty of boxes. He will go forward under Kirsty Bennett and should take a bit of catching. Big Bada Boom also won last time and is 7 from 18 overall now so looks the danger to the favourite. Sentimental Queen knows her way around here and she is 6 from 20 overall so a bit more exposed but definitely respected. Crescent City also can’t be entirely ruled out but he definitely needs to be at his best to get involved.
