NAP – Best selection of the evening
Warwick 3.15 Prince Escalus (11/8)
Progressive sort who raced enthusiastically throughout before pulling away readily at Hereford last time; up another 8lb now but hard to oppose if in the same form and likelihood is there is more to come yet.
The NAP is going great guns and we eye up a FIVE-TIMER on Thursday. We head to Warwick where the progressive PRINCE ESCALUS can bring up a hat-trick of wins for Jonjo O’Neill. I loved the way he went through the race to defy a 4lb rise in the weights at Hereford last time. He jumped really well and was always dictating his rivals. A further 8lb rise obviously demands more but he would have won carrying that the last day and I think he is good enough to carry top weight to victory here. He will love the ground and I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t get these at it off the front. Both Rockstar Ronnie and Galop De Chasse are out now so that leaves Moonlighter as the danger but needs to jump better.

Chelmsford 6.45 Blue Trail (15/8)
Promising colt who caught the eye on debut and then improved to bolt up at Southwell; better again overcoming a positional bias at Kempton last time; more to come again and looks up to confirming that form.
Harrow and BLUE TRAIL fought it out at Kempton last time and I think that will be the case again here. The latter did well to overcome a positional bias in the closing stages and he remains open to further progression. He was just a step slow away the last day and that put him on the backfoot to an extent. He stayed on strongly in the closing stages though and then showed a good attitude to keep Harrow at bay. I’m expecting him to be a lot more streetwise here and with Dark Moon Rising likely to give them a good target to run down that should help him pick up the bridle. Harrow is definitely the danger again as he is likeable and probably has more to come too. Find may well finish third again.
