NAP – Best selection of the evening

Curragh 3.40 Markaz Paname (11/8)

Well regarded sort who landed a gamble on return winning well at Naas last month; sure to improve again off the back of that and looks one to keep firmly on side against these and going forward; should have too much.

I’ll be surprised if MARKAZ PANAME doesn’t get the job done at the Curragh this afternoon. He impressed on return and he looks up to making it 3 wins from just 4 starts now. This is obviously a step up on what he has been achieving but the yard have always thought a fair bit of him and as Group 3s go this does look winnable. I’d say Current Option is the danger as he finished second in this last year and he should be coming to the boil now after a couple of solid runs. Thunder Moon is obviously a smart colt but he ran a shocker at Riyadh and will need to bounce back here to have a say. Enough to prove on the balance of his form right now. Lustown Baba best of the rest, will be running on.

NAP

Curragh 3.40 Markaz Paname (11/8)

Tramore 3.57 Fighter Allen (11/8)

Promising sort who reached a decent level over hurdles but always going to make a better chaser; bumped into Stattler when an excellent second on chase debut at Fairyhouse; tough ask latest; can get back on track.

There is nothing of Stattler’s calibre in here so I’m expecting FIGHTER ALLEN to open his account over fences. He remains open to improvement and brings plenty of potential to the table. Things didn’t work out behind Galopin Des Champs in a Grade 1 at Leopardstown back in February but these are obviously much calmer waters. His second to Stattler was a cracking run and under likely positive tactics he might not come back to them here under Townend. Popong wasn’t disgraced when last seen at Listowel and makes her return now. She has gone well fresh so could figure but I’m not convinced. I think Mr Incredible might pose a greater threat but he did refuse to race last time.
