NAP – Best selection of the evening
Newmarket 3.35 Cachet (9/4)
Kept finding to reverse form with Hello You when last seen in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf to finish fourth, headed late; likely to have improved again over the winter; good chance she makes a winning return.
This has been won by some nice fillies down the years and while this isn’t the strongest of renewals I do think CACHET looks a good bet. She ran a big race when third to Inspiral in the bet365 Fillies’ Mile before going down all guns blazing at the Breeders’ Cup. She is open to further improvement and this race should be within reach on her return. Her price is about right but she ticks the right boxes. Hello You was behind her in America and will need to find more to reverse that now. Perfect News is likeable and was only beaten 2 and a quarter lengths into third in the Oh So Sharp Stakes so also has to be considered. Ribbon Rose is unbeaten but this will be a stern test of her credentials.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS ON THE AW AT WOLVERHAMPTON!
Wolverhampton 7.45 Hot Diggity Dog (4/1)
Ran on well to win over this trip at Newcastle back in October and performed to a decent level in defeat since; ran on well late last time and step back up a furlong in trip could see him back in the winners enclosure now.
I think two things need to happen for HOT DIGGITY DOG to get back to winning ways. Firstly they go a good gallop and with plenty of pace on here this could pan out perfectly. Secondly he doesn’t get too far back. I know he has to be held up as he likes passing rivals but he was never given a chance last time and I don’t want to see him given a mountain to climb. I’ve been waiting for him to step back up to 6f and this looks a really good opportunity on paper. The danger could be Dark Angel colt Watchya who let supporters down on handicap debut but that was in a race that has worked out well. If he leaves that behind and improves here he is a lively threat. Sir Henry Cotton also has to be feared.
