NAP – Best selection of the evening
Southwell 4.55 Onchan (2/1)
Likeable type who had looked a work in progress over fences prior to knuckling down well for pressure to open his account at Market Rasen last month; up 7lb but hard to knock that form and leading claims here.
The NAP was back to winning ways on Tuesday and we head over Jumps on Wednesday where ONCHAN looks a good bet to follow up at Southwell. He kept rolling to fend off a useful yardstick in Edmond Dantes last time and with that horse having run well again since the form looks to have a fair bit of substance. The handicapper clearly thought it was a convincing win too as he has put him up 7lb from that. He remains open to improvement and if he gets into a nice jumping rhythm he should prove tough to pass again. Animal impressed bolting up by 11 lengths at Fakenham but couldn’t back that up at Market Rasen. He is also open to further progression so looks the main danger.

Newmarket 1.50 Pocket The Profit (3/1)
Improved fast last season winning four in a row in the space of just 2 weeks; made an impressive return bolting up at Pontefract last week; turned out quickly under a penalty but still likely the one to beat.
With 5 wins from his last 6 starts now the progressive POCKET THE PROFIT can strike again while the iron is hot. He won head in chest on return at Pontefract and turned out quickly under a penalty should take plenty of stopping under Ryan Moore. Aclaim colt Object looks the danger to me on his return. He won fresh last season and capped off the year with another win at Kempton. He is open to further progression and should run a nice race, hopefully behind the favourite. Loves Me Likearock also remains unexposed and could go well but an opening mark of 87 does look a bit harsh. Dig Two makes his handicap debut and is another one to consider from a place perspective for Hugo Palmer.
