BUSY DAY COMING UP IN AUSTRALIA! Racing Down Under from Ipswich, Canterbury Park, Bendigo, Strathalbyn and Ascot. Overnight Double pays 9/2!

NAP – Best tip overnight

THE AUSTRALIAN NAP IS STILL CHASING A DOUBLE AND RUNS AT IPSWICH!

Race 2 Ipswich 3.33 Poignant (11/10)

Promising mare who went down narrowly on debut and hasn’t had a great deal of luck since; carried wide last time and raced without cover when only fourth and before that slowly away; can put things right now.

With potential to take a big step forward POIGNANT gets a confident vote to come out on top on return. She won a trial at Gold Coast at the start of the month so should be primed for this now. This looks very winnable and she is by far and away the most likely winner for me. Champagne Pop ran below par on return last time but if she can build on that she may well be the one that emerges as the main danger to the favourite. No Nay Jubilee is already starting to look a bit exposed and has enough to do to try and hold off the front pair. Ahika has a similar profile and will also likely be struggling against those with potential. Nothing else really stands out in this field.

Race 6 Bendigo 6.55 Stay In Touch (6/4)

Improving mare who has won 3 from 4 and impressed again last time knuckling down well for pressure to come out on top; scope for further progression and gets a soft run up the rail so definitely the one to beat.

This looks another top opportunity for STAY IN TOUCH to win again. She is already 3 from 4 and has more to come for sure. She has been freshened up and with a better break away from the gate will be hard to beat in the closing stages. It’s Kind Of Magic would be a danger on earlier form but she has lost her way somewhat. Rambeau returns and needs a second look. All Stardom would definitely have been worth another look but is out now. Darceandermill has 3 wins from 10 starts but has finished nearer last than first in recent starts and has enough to prove. Hard to see much else figuring in a race that looks all about the favourite as she clearly has the most potential of these.
