THE AUSTRALIAN NAP RUNS IN RACE 5 AT WERRIBEE ON FRIDAY MORNING!

Race 5 Werribee 6.30 Junko (11/10)

Good looking chestnut filly who took her form up a notch to win impressively at Yarra Valley last month; fourth at Cranbourne last time but in a better race than this; more to come and looks the one to beat.

Tough day Down Under yesterday so hopefully we can get back on track before a big weekend. We head to Werribee where JUNKO looks poised to strike again. She impressed on penultimate start and was far from disgraced in a much better race than this at Cranbourne. With scope for further improvement she can get back to winning ways here. It’s no surprise to see her figuring prominently in the betting and for me she will only get shorter. Redneck Princess has been running to a consistent level and shaped well again when runner-up at Wodonga last time. She might be the one to give the selection most to think about. Wegottem Today Son is respected on earlier form but enough to prove now.

Race 4 Tamworth 5.25 Dr Evil (9/4)

Likeable type who has won 2 of his last 3 and was back to his best justifying strong support to win convincingly at Newcastle last time; form stacks up and with plenty in favour can win again here.

This looks a great chance for DR EVIL to salute the judge again. He is in great form and won’t need to find much more to make it 3 wins from his last 4 starts. He likes to get settled early before rattling home late so always needs a bit of luck in running but if the gaps appear he should be the one powering home. Picaro is respected on exposed form but needs more to get his head back in front here. Foodie King won at Tamworth last time but this looks more competitive so he’ll need more. Onemore Sapphire is a decent yardstick but he has never run over the trip so that is a question mark. Endorphins was a good second at Tamworth so that brings her into it but this still requires more.
