Fanning was at his brilliant best to get TRIBAL ART home in front at Wolverhampton last week. It looked like Pearl Beach was getting the better of the argument having come through with a strong challenge but the selection was so game and came back bravely at the line to get up. He has more to come over this trip and turned out quickly under a penalty should take a lot of stopping here. Gumball might go forward so he could be the danger as I wouldn’t want to see him get an easy lead. Themaxwecan was last at Musselburgh and has enough to prove even with the cheekpieces back on. Protected Guest has plenty of ability but doesn’t always channel it in the right direction.

Ayr 5.40 Cosmos Raj (15/8)

Progressive form last season and while he didn’t pull down any trees on return at Ripon he should enjoy this faster surface and he is weighted to run a big race if bouncing back; yard also firing in the winners.

I’m chancing COSMOS RAJ to get back to winning ways at Ayr on Tuesday. This son of Iffraaj was down the field on return at Ripon but that was in soft ground and it looked a decent race with strength in depth. He will appreciate this better ground and will be fitter now. David O’Meara has made a strong start to the season and looks to have another great chance of a winner. Diamondonthehill is a danger if fit and ready to roll on his return. Tilsitt has won over C&D but is another one that might come on for the run. Rains Of Castamere should be fit now and he is down to a handy mark but he needs to show more as he was disappointing again when only seventh at Musselburgh last time.
