THE AUSTRALIAN NAP RUNS IN RACE 2 AT MACKAY ON THURSDAY MORNING!

Race 2 Mackay 4.04 Chinny Boom (4/5)

Smart filly who is a perfect 2-2 after winning at Rockhampton on debut and then backing that up to score impressively at Townsville last time; sure to keep improving and looks hard to oppose in this field.

A straight shootout looks on the cards here and I can’t get away from CHINNY BOOM for Clinton Taylor and Justin Stanley. She is 2-2 and trounced them last time. If she steps forward again she should have too much for Zipping Irish. The latter was beaten again at Rockhampton and will need a career best to stop the fav bringing up the hat-trick. Bright And Ready looks a nice yardstick still and made the breakthrough last time so also has to enter calculations. Get the impression this will throw up plenty of future winners. Heroic Angel made a bright start but blew out at Eagle Farm. If you put a line through that she still has potential though so it will be interesting to see how she runs as well.

Race 5 Mornington 6.00 Dollar Chaser (4/5)

Likeable type who took a nice step forward when second at Pakenham and improved again to win at Cranbourne last time; can go on from that now and likelihood of further improvement to come so big chance.

We head to Mornington overnight for our second best bet Down Under and DOLLAR CHASER can follow up that Cranbourne victory. His previous form stacks up and he has more to come now. Our Free Spirit has some decent runs in the book so can’t be easily overlooked but I still think he’ll need more to live with this favourite. Quenton is exposed in comparison but did run better when second at Echuca despite racing awkwardly and being hampered too. Classy Banner is a decent yardstick so also has to be respected but might just be bumping into a couple here. Moss Job has only run once over track and trip and finished second so no massive surprise if she managed to improve again.
