Musselburgh 4.20 Rum Going On (5/4)

Improved to open his account here over 7f last month, drawing clear readily late on; only narrowly denied at Wetherby last week; further progress to come up to a mile now and should take plenty of beating here.

Cheekpieces have brought about the best in RUM GOING ON and he did well to go as close as he did under a penalty at Wetherby following that victory here last month. He is up to a mile for the first time now and that should see him improve again and if he does he will have these in trouble. There isn’t much pace on so he might go forward and get a soft lead too under Harrison Shaw. Slade Power filly Hello Power looks the main danger having opened her account at Southwell last time. She is up 4lb but does need to prove she can reproduce that on turf now. Antwasaprettypenny remains a maiden but was only beaten 2 lengths into third over this trip at Redcar last month and also has to be noted.

Catterick 2.30 Golden Gal (2/1)

Progressive filly who has won 2 of her last 3 since returning last month; beat the right horses at Wolverhampton back down to the minimum trip last week and the one to beat again despite shouldering a penalty.

This looks a great opportunity for GOLDEN GAL to make it 3 wins from her last 4. This Galileo Gold filly relished the drop back to the minimum at Wolverhampton last week and if she matches that back on turf here she should be hitting the line best. I thought she really impressed last time given she conceded first run and she did it with enough to spare at the finish. She carries a penalty but still rates the one to beat. Mokaman ended a losing run to win by a neck at Musselburgh last month and has scored over this C&D so might emerge as the main threat. Of the rest Isle Of Dreams opened her account over track and trip last month but she will find this tougher and needs to back that up now.
