THE NAP NEEDS A WINNER AND RUNS ON THE FLAT AT BEVERLEY ON TUESDAY!

Beverley 4.45 Appier (1/1)

Ridden confidently swooping from well off the pace to win impressively on handicap debut over shorter here at the start of the month; stayed on strongly that day so should relish the extra yardage here; hard to oppose.

Given the way APPIER hit the line the last day he should love this step up to a mile and a half here. He is turned out quickly under a penalty but if improving again for the trip should be coming home best of all under Ben Curtis. Dubawi filly Amzaan looks the type to step forward now handicapping and she might be the one to chase the selection home. Whitcliffe wasn’t entirely disgraced when fifth last time but is the pace angle here so may just end up setting it up for the selection who will be doing his best work late on. Double-figure prices the rest but Coligone Kate is at least bred to be better than what she has shown so far but does have ground to make up with the selection on that latest run.

Newcastle 8.00 Razeyna (11/8)

Kodiac filly who made a perfect start staying on well to make a winning debut at Newbury last month; the second has come out and won her next start to advertise the form; hard to beat with further improvement to come.

This looks a good race and one I think should throw up plenty of future winners. Two two horses that made winning debuts look set to fight it out and strong preference is for RAZEYNA for William Haggas. She won convincingly on debut and the form has been boosted since with the second Lady Eros winning next time out in the style of a nice prospect. Monaadah also struck at the first time of asking but his debut came over in Dubai at Meydan. He went away from them but I’m not sure about the strength of the form. He concedes weight all round too and will likely need to improve a fair bit again to cope with the selection. Tothenines has shown potential and looks best of the rest.
