Best bets at Australia in the early hours of Sunday morning

We’ve had a good look at the Australian racing overnight with the focus on Mornington, Penola and Stawell. We’ve also covered Moruya and Albany.

On top of our best bets we have the race-by-race bets list below the main bets if you want to know what we fancy on the rest of the cards (just scroll right down to the bottom).

NAP – Best selection of the evening

THE AUSSIE NAP IS DUE A WINNER AND RUNS IN RACE 5 AT STAWELL!

Race 5 Stawell 6.15 Castel Sant’Angelo (11/10)

Been running in better races than this lately and was checked in his run last time before being hampered so better than the bare result; blinkers on again and should take full advantage here from a good draw on the rail.

I’m expecting CASTEL SANT’ANGELO to get on the rail and lead throughout here. He has been running well without winning in strongest contests than this lately and he should take advantage and get his head back in front. Rebel With A Cause should be suited by this shorter trip and is respected. Georgethefifth doesn’t know how to run a bad race but keeps finding one or two too good and it could be more of the same here with the favourite expected to prove too strong for them with plenty in favour.

NAP

Race 5 Stawell 6.15 Castel Sant’Angelo (11/10)

NB – Second best selection of the day

THE NEXT BEST RUNS IN RACE 2 AT PENOLA EARLY ON SUNDAY MORNING!

Race 2 Penola 4.20 Maximum Hustle (5/4)

Lightly raced chestnut who ran a cracker on his first start for five months when third at Bordertown last month; he was carried wide on that occasion but ran well and is expected to take a step forward physically here; this looks easier and could make all.

We head to Penola for our second best bet overnight and MAXIMUM HUSTLE looks to have been found a good race to open his account. He has only raced four times and put in his best run to date when third on return. With that run under his belt he is expected to be a lot sharper now and should take care of these off the front-end. Ranger Frank is a danger in the betting making his racecourse debut but he’ll have to know his job to run down this favourite. Act Of Aggression is feared most but she’ll need to improve.
