NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS AT KEMPTON ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON!
Kempton 2.20 Mcfabulous (11/8)
Looked a horse going place when dotting up in the Persian War at Chepstow on return; no shame in finishing third to Thyme Hill and Paisley Park since; back down in trip which should suit and looks the one to beat.
The step up in trip counted against MCFABULOUS in the Long Distance Hurdle at Newbury last time and while he wasn’t disgraced in third behind two potential superstars he will enjoy going back down in trip here given how strongly he travels. He is still hugely exciting and I fully expect him to get back on track here. Probably at the main expense of Younevercall who returned as good as ever and ran a cracker when fourth to Paisley Park in the Long Walk last month. He will be fitter now so should run well. Summerville Boy was held behind the selection at Newbury and has his work cutout with this test suiting the favourite even more. On The Blind Side could also be contesting the places.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS AT WINCANTON ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON!
Wincanton 2.35 Evander (2/1)
Struck twice over hurdles but already looks to have a brighter future as a chaser winning head in chest at Doncaster last month, jumping notably well; missed a couple of engagements since due to the weather; sure to go close.
There was a lot to like about the way EVANDER opened his account over fences last time, making all the running and jumping really well throughout. He is open to considerable improvement in this sphere and I fully expect him to justify favouritism here around 2/1 at the time of writing. He is actually entered at Kempton as well but that’s just as a precaution incase Wincanton is abandoned. Both tracks have inspections but they’re confident racing will go ahead so he should take up his first preference here. Gala Ball is consistent and should be the one to chase him home with Two For Gold probably off to Kempton. Slate House is a good horse on his day but comes here with a lot to prove.
Daily Double
The Daily Double consists of both the NAP and NB and is a great way of covering our two best bets of the day to maximise profit. They run at Kempton and Wincanton on Saturday afternoon.
