I know The Carpenter was progressive over hurdles and went unbeaten but he isn't certain to take to fences and an opening mark of 134 looks stiff enough. I much prefer MONVIEL now with Harry Derham. He won over hurdles at this track for Philip Hobbs and showed plenty on chase debut to go down just 2 lengths to JPR One. That horse has franked the form as he was going to bolt up at Cheltenham before falling. He is open to improvement and should take a lot of beating.

The form has been franked since with the fourth Bobby Shaftoe winning next time out. He escapes a penalty for that success as it was an apprentice event so this looks a cracking chance for him to go and follow up. Eagle's Realm is on a hat-trick after justifying good support at Newcastle and is the main danger.
