Race 3 Rockhampton 3.47 Trump Me (11/8)
Two good runs since returning; too fresh and keen back from four months off the track beaten a length at Mackay; again refused to settle after blundering the start over 1100m here last time; big field ideal and hitting peak fitness now; leading claims.
We were with TRUMP ME here last time but he was narrowly denied. He fluffed his lines at the start and I think that revved him up leading him to overrace somewhat. If he can get settled early in this bigger field I think he’ll finish to good effect and it will take a good one to stop him getting off the mark. Dip Dye was beaten a nose here two weeks ago and should go well again and Jomera was posted wide last time so had excuses but her run here prior to that was promising so she should run into a place.

Race 6 Scone 7.20 Strawb (6/4)
Could not have been more impressive returning from 8 months off the track to sweep past the whole field and win over 1300m at this track last time; wide gate to deal with here but improving fast and looks a mare to keep firmly on the right side.
This isn’t a bad race but with plenty of pace on it could set up for STRAWB here as she rattled home last time to win impressively. She is drawn wide which is a slight concern but if plenty go forward she might get a good toe in and it could open up for her late. She is on the upgrade and it’s no surprise to see her so short in the market. Plenty to like! Black Sunrise is a filly improving too and she won gamely last time so should remain competitive. Definitely a danger. Spirit Of Elijah should run a place back in trip now.
