Race 8 Tampa Bay Downs 9.00 Romantic Gizmo (7/4)
Gaining with every stride when finishing second over a mile at Gulfstream last time; looks to be open to further improvement and positive tactics may pay dividends here dropping back to 6f as certainly doesn’t lack speed; big chance.
The US NAP won last night as Flora Fantasy completed a C&D five-timer at Gulfstream. Hopefully we can fire in another winner tonight and we’ve gone for one at a nice price in ROMANTIC GIZMO at Tampa. She is a filly on the upgrade and this looks a good opportunity for her to return to winning ways. I thought she was a bit unlucky the last day and back over 6f she can come out on top. There isn’t much pace on and she doesn’t lack early dash so it won’t surprise me if they push forward with her. Hard to catch!

Race 5 Fort Erie 8.12 Sofia’s Slugger (2/1)
Useful type who has the form in the book to win this low grade affair; been running well over a mile of late and the drop back to 5f could see him improve enough to make the breakthrough; no surprise to see him try and make all.
The start could dictate what happens here and I’ll be hoping SOFIA’S SLUGGER goes forward and grabs the lead. He stays a mile so if he has the early dash to lead then he will be tough to pass late on. He has more to offer being just a 3yo and this doesn’t look like it’ll take much winning so he is the most logical winner for me. Charlie’s Game is probably the most interesting rival against. He is a bit of a lazy sort so the blinkers could straighten him out. Might chase the selection home. Looks the favourites to lose though.
