Kingman colt who looked a very exciting prospect quickening up to win impressively on debut at the Curragh last week; travelled notably strongly and hit the line strong so step up to 6f can suit; sure to keep improving and one to keep on side.
I can’t wait to see ADMIRAL NELSON out again. I was really taken with his debut win and he could be anything at this stage given his breeding and connections. He beat his more fancied stablemate Merchants Quay and did everything Wayne Lordan asked. He looked to have push button acceleration and while this represents a big step up tackling Group company they must think a lot of him to do so. He looks hugely exciting and it’s no surprise to see him head the betting. Night Of Thunder colt Qaader is the main threat.

Newmarket 2.15 King Ragnar (11/4)
Smart colt who didn’t need to improve to open his account at Newcastle in November; caught the eye on return at Newmarket tackling handicap company for the first time, chasing home Smokey Bear and Lazuli; latter has won impressively since.
This is a good race but the one that stands out most is KING RAGNAR for Roger Varian. He is improving all the time and caught the eye on handicap debut at Newmarket last time. The form has been well advertised since and with further improvement on the cards he looks a good bet to come out on top. A mark of 81 looks lenient all things considered. Al Rufaa is being supported and is another who should have more to offer. At a bigger price River Nymph can go well. Might be worth backing to run a place.
