Best bets Stateside on Thursday night
Sky Sports Racing have live coverage of US Racing tonight and we have covered FOUR meetings again and picked out our best bets.
No joy for the NAP last night but the NB did do the business at Delta Downs. Hopefully we can get our best bet back on track at Laurel Park. Also racing from Aqueduct, Gulfstream and Delta Downs.
NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE US NAP (BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 2 AT LAUREL PARK ON THURSDAY NIGHT!
Race 2 Laurel Park 5.54 Makin’ Out (10/11)
Lightly raced mare who returned to winning ways over track and trip in October, finishing best; improved again to follow up at Penn National last month, five lengths clear at the line; this easier if anything and obvious chance of the hat-trick.
The NAP could only finish third last night so we’ll be looking to bounce back tonight and make it 3 winners from our last 4. We head to Laurel Park and the hat-trick seeking MAKIN’ OUT looks the one to beat in Race 2. She has turned a corner lately and has obvious form claims of making it three in a row. She likes to get settled early before running rivals down one by one. Owesaycanyousee should put good pace to the race and that can help set it up for the selection. The biggest danger looks to be Folk Magic who wasn’t at her best on return last time but can improve for the run and take a hand here. Her win at Delaware Park prior to that was a decent effort. Fancy them to finish 1-2.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE US NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) WON LAST NIGHT AND RUNS AT GULFSTREAM ON THURSDAY!
Race 2 Gulfstream 6.04 Markistan (11/8)
Useful filly who won three in a row in the summer; held her form well since and knocked on the door the last twice going down narrowly over the extended 5f last time; Saez now up and obvious chance of getting back in the winners enclosure.
The NB won easily last night so we’re eyeing up a quick double as we head to Gulfstream on Thursday night. MARKISTAN should prove tough to beat on debut for her new yard. She remains open to further improvement and has knocked hard on the door the last twice. With Luis Saez now in the saddle she looks to have an obvious chance of going one better. Her form looks the strongest on offer and she is a confident selection to come out on top. Beast Of Wildwood is definitely the danger. She has some decent form in the book and went down all guns blazing when third last time. Should run her race again. Bahamian Girl also comes into the reckoning as this is easier than last time.
Evening Double
The Evening Double consists of both the NAP & NB and is a great way of covering our two best bets of the night to maximise profit. They run at Laurel Park and Gulfstream on Thursday night.
