THE US NAP (BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 7 AT SANTA ANITA ON SUNDAY NIGHT!

Race 7 Santa Anita 10.08 Edgeway (10/11)

Progressive filly who made a really bright start winning on debut by 5 lengths at Oaklawn Park; chased home Kimari and Frank’s Rockette next start before back to winning ways over this trip; good second when last seen; more to come.

We haven’t seen her for 246 days but if EDGEWAY is anywhere near her best she will be tough to beat here. She is clearly very talented on what we have seen so far and with the scope to improve again this term she is a confident selection to make a winning return. Acting Out struggled up in grade last time but had previously won 3 of her last 4 so she is respected in opposition. She is the pace angle though and should set it up for the favourite. Quality Response has a bit to prove after her last two starts but if she bounced back having been freshened up she could pose the biggest threat to the selection and could make a race of it. Miss Bigly and Hotitude both need to improve.

Likeable type who was back to his best winning convincingly over 6f here in December; backed that up with an impressive win over track and trip again last time; hat-trick beckons now and hard to oppose.

The hat-trick seeking RESERVENOTATTAINED looks the one to beat at Gulfstream tonight. He has really impressed the last twice and even his form in defeat before that reads well now. This looks no tougher so if he’s in the same form off a brief 30 day freshen then he should take care of these. South Sea actually finished in front of the selection when winning over track and trip in the summer last year but he hasn’t quite matched that form since and has his work cutout to try and confirm those placings here. Chill Haze is a decent yardstick and looks overpriced here coming in off the back of a good win over 7f. He might be worth a small each way saver at a double-figure price.
