THE US NAP (BEST BET) LANDED LAST NIGHT AND RUNS AT WOODBINE TONIGHT!

Race 10 Woodbine 11.00 Wild Medagliad’oro (5/4)

Came home strongly to win on first try on this surface over the extended 5f here last month; been gelded so good reason to think he will keep improving; hard to oppose especially stepping back up to 7f now.

Bolshoi Ballet stayed on dourly to win the Belmont Derby last night and it was a good double for Ryan Moore with Santa Barbara winning the Belmont Oaks too. A notable Stateside double for Aidan O’Brien. The racing isn’t as good tonight but even still we have a confident NAP running at Woodbine in the shape of WILD MEDAGLIAD’ORO. He looked good last time and that was his first start since being gelded. He could have lots more to come especially on this surface stepping back up in trip so he ticks plenty of boxes. Senor Jobim showed a good attitude to prevail on penultimate start and wasn’t massively disgraced last time so could emerge as the main danger.

Race 11 Lone Star 12.57 Gastown (7/4)

Likeable filly who is improving with experience and was only denied a neck last time having made up a ton of ground from off the pace; more to come for sure and she looks well placed to get back in the winners enclosure now.

We head to Lone Star on Sunday night for our second best bet Stateside and GASTOWN can get back to winning ways. She ran a cracker on debut when denied a nose and quickly built on that to win impressively on just her second start up to a mile for the first time. Things didn’t go to plan on a sloppy track next time but she was back to her best when beaten a neck over track and trip last time and with the promise of more to come she can go one better and take care of this bunch. Empressive Reward got her nose in front on dirt here last month and if she can transfer that back to turf she could be the main danger to the favourite. Markup has only had two starts but has shown ability. Value to run a place.
