NAP – Best selection of the evening

THE NAP (BEST BET) IS CHASING A HAT-TRICK AND RUNS AT NAVAN ON SUNDAY!

Navan 3.25 Ballyadam (10/11)

Smart novice hurdler who chased home Appreciate It in the Supreme and then finished fourth to My Drogo at Aintree; caught out by the first fence when crashing out at Punchestown; definitely worth another chance.

I know it sounds a bit silly but I honestly think BALLYADAM just wasn’t switched on when asked up at the first at Punchestown and he paid the price. We’ve seen it happen before and I definitely think he is worth chancing to bounce back here. He still has a bright future as a chaser and I’m keen to back him against these. Buddy Rich finished second in that contest he fell in and the winner Cape Gentleman has won impressively again since so he is certainly respected with experience on side. He probably just lacks the class of the selection but should keep him honest. Wide Receiver has a winning point back ground and could also have a bright future in this sphere so certainly not entirely ruled out.

NAP

Navan 3.25 Ballyadam (10/11)

Navan 12.40 My Mate Mozzie (11/8)

Likeable type who couldn’t have been any more impressive on his hurdling debut at Punchestown last month; really fast over his hurdles and kept pouring it on; looks to have a bright future in this sphere and hard to oppose.

I was really taken with MY MATE MOZZIE at Punchestown last time and given he is likely to improve from that I think he’ll bolt up again here. Gavin Cromwell does well with these types and I think this horse is destined for some big prizes this season. Chemical Energy also made a winning start over timber but that didn’t look much of a race and he is going to need to improve to trouble the selection. San Salvador impressed beating Gaspard Du Seuil at Listowel on debut over hurdles but blotted his copybook when falling at the last at Tipperary last time. He has a bit to prove off the back of that but shouldn’t be ruled out as it’s still obviously early days. Hard to see any of the others proving good enough.
