Kempton 12.40

It’s a shame we have just the 3 runners heading to post for this as it means we have a short price about CALL OF THE WILD but I’m confident he is the one to beat for Alan King. He made an impressive start winning by over 8 lengths on debut in a bumper at Huntingdon and shaped with plenty of promise when a close-up second on hurdles debut last time. He can improve for the experience and looks hard to oppose.

Petrossian also won his bumper impressively at Newbury but was really poor behind Jonbon when last seen in March. He has undergone a wind op and still has potential now tackling hurdles but does have enough to prove. Hartnoll Hero has a hood on for his hurdles debut and could be useful enough but the fav especially has potential to be smart so it’s a tough ask.

Call Of The Wild 5/6

Kempton 1.15

Just the 3 runners going to post again and it looks a competitive little race. SEBASTOPOL gets the pick after a run of 7 seconds in-a-row and this could be the one where he gets his head in front. His run behind Third Time Lucki looks top form and if ready to roll a week later he is the one to beat. He was outpaced the last day so back up slightly in trip will help and I think he has a lot going for him.

Rockstar Ronnie stepped forward on his last run but has to give weight to his rivals here and Atholl Stteet could be a bigger danger after a decent comeback run at Fakenham but both have to find more to beat the selection. The latter was backed like he’d do better than he did but Paddys Motorbike is a nice type himself so it might not have been that bad a run.

Sebastopol 13/8

Kempton 1.50

I think VALUE TIP can upset the favourite here. This Passing Glance mare won 4 times over hurdles last season and returned better than even when denied just a length in a fiercely competitive novice hurdle at Cheltenham last month. The front pair pulled 10 lengths clear from the third on that occasion and the winner looks a nice horse so the form is rock solid. She remains thoroughly unexposed over this trip and I think if she improves again she can take it to My Sister Sarah.

The latter is a tough mare who won’t lack fitness after finishing down the field in the Irish Cesarewitch last month. She is the highest rated in the field but I don’t think she deserves to be as short as she is coming up against untapped potential. Of the rest Getaway Totherock was a very good second in this last year so she also has to have a squeak but will need to be fully tuned up on return.

Kempton 2.25

This looks highly competitive with the bookmakers struggling to split the top 3 in the market. VISION DES FLOS gets a narrow vote to bounce back after pulling up last time out. That was over a longer trip and back down to 2 and a half miles he should be right in the mix. His last 2 runs at this trip have seen him run out a comfortable winner and if in that form he will win this.

Mercurian Prince is the main danger on his best form and only 2lb higher than his last win over fences he has to be a threat to all. Of the rest Gortroe Joe will likely fill the top 3 but I think the selection is better handicapped.

Kempton 2.55

The money came late for NOTEBOOK at Lingfield last time and it certainly wasn’t misplaced as he made it 2 wins from his last 3. He has been nudged up another 3lb but I’ve been really impressed with him and that visual impression has been supported by the clock as well. 3lb claimer Kevin Jones has been booked for the ride so that offsets the rise and with potential for better yet I think he could take a bit of beating again here. He was given an easy time of it when in front by Paddy Brennan last time so had more in hand than the winning margin suggests.

Inca Rose looks the obvious danger having finished a good second on debut over hurdles at Warwick. That form has worked out well since and if he is ready to roll on return he will give the selection a race. Not At Present best of the rest despite a 5lb rise.

Kempton 3.25

Interesting race to finish off the day at Kempton with the in-form SEE THE SEA taking on a potential big improver in Paso Doble. They are both vying for favouritism at the top of the market but I think Sea The Sea will make it 4 wins in-a-row. She is up 7lb for her last win but it was easy enough and she should still have plenty to come.

Paso Doble for the Nicholls team is the likely danger after running in some much more competitive races than this and may be well handicapped. He has ran well at the track twice and if better for the run last month he will be a big threat.
