Kempton 1.15

Exceling is likely to be popular here after getting her head in front over C&D last time but I’m not entirely sold by her profile and I think I might have found one at a monster price that could run a big race. KENSINGTON AGENT showed a good attitude to get off the mark at just the second attempt at Bath back in the summer and she caught the eye going down narrowly over 7f here last time. She remains open to further improvement and the drop back in trip looks a good move. I’m surprised she is available at 16/1!

Exceling would be my idea of the danger but Ringo Starlight is also respected as he is bred to be pretty useful and backed up that Southwell win going close at the same venue last time. Off the same mark here he should get competitive and I’ll be surprised if he isn’t involved at the finish.

In what looks a wide open race I am going to take a chance on JULIE JOHNSTON at a big price. She has run well at higher marks before and looks very interesting off a mark of just 52. She is also fitted with first-time blinkers which could see her improve and is worth a small bet in a winnable race. The first-time blinkers should help her and if she bounces back she looks good value to hit the frame under Willie Carson. There’s a fair bit of pace on and she should be held onto to try and pick up the pieces.

Griggy is a former course and distance winner and is a likely danger here as he like the selection has dropped down the handicap. Won Love is by Frankel and while he is yet to get his head in front he was well backed at Lingfield last time and he is down another 2lb so they clearly think he can make an impact off this mark.

Kempton 2.15

This looks a great chance for COVERT MISSION to follow up his impressive C&D win at the start of the month. This son of Lope De Vega did that with plenty to spare so a 5lb rise is unlikely to anchor him here. He is lightly raced so could even improve and if he does he will give these plenty to think about. I thought he’d be shorter than 3/1 so definitely worth taking the early odds. He should push forward again and the way he hit the line last time was quite taking so a similar performance may well suffice.

The danger is Got No Dollars for Stuart Williams. This horse won at the track back in October and was a good fourth from a tough draw at Chelmsford when last seen. Freshened up since he should run a big race back at this venue and looks the one most likely to give the selection something to think about.

Kempton 2.45

This looks like a very good race with plenty of these in red-hot form. WHITTLE LE WOODS gets a narrow vote after a good win at Chelmsford earlier this month. He looked to improve for the step up to this trip and if in the same form he can go close even with a 3lb penalty. He opened up at around 3/1 but even at the time of writing is proving very popular in the betting so it would be n o surprise to see him materialise as one of the gambles of the day as this syndicate usually back them when they have a good chance.

Street Kid would have been the danger having won 2 of his last 3 but he has been withdrawn now. Firepower was a good second last time having got racing too soon. Rogue Force has won over C&D and also has to be considered if getting back to form. Sir Maxi is another one running well enough to hit the frame here.

Kempton 3.15

I think as long as KABOO handles the switch to polytrack he should bring up the hat-trick. He has won impressively the last twice and could be a cut above these. He found plenty off the bridle last time and asserted in good style in the closing stages. The danger is probably Mojomaker but he will need to leave that reappearance run behind to upset the fav. I can see him improving enough to chase the selection home but I’m not convinced from a win point of view which makes the fav a strong play.

Muhaarar colt Annaf made a perfect start winning on debut but this is much tougher and he is going to need to improve plenty to remain unbeaten. Adaay In Asia is likeable but needs to bounce back. Resilience hasn’t lived up to expectations so far and this looks tougher again but he might come good at some point going forward.

Kempton 3.45

After losing out by the finest of margins over course and distance last time out NO DIGGITY has a decent chance of getting his head in front this afternoon. He gets to run off the same mark with a 5lb claimer making his chances even stronger and he should get the win he deserves based on his last 2 runs. He is likely to be ridden quietly as he can be awkward out the starting stalls sometimes so will need usual luck when making his manoeuvre but should have a bit in hand off his current mark.

It isn’t the strongest field with Shadow Angel and Broughtons Compass the main dangers with a preference for the former who took a big step forward last time out. Recuerdame also deserves a mention as he has been successful over track and trip in the past and hasn’t been running too badly recently beaten 4 lengths at Chelmsford last time.

Kempton 4.20

I thought RESET BUTTON was going to really kick on after beating Eagle One at Wolverhampton at the beginning of last month. He has been beaten 3 times since but hasn’t lost much in defeat only missing narrowly each time. He was a very good second over C&D last time and if he can settle a bit better in the early stages he is going to take a lot of beating off this mark again. He had to come wide last time so lost a bit of ground and I think granted a clearer passage through he should be finishing best.

A few dangers probably headed by Eltham Palace. She was a good second at Chelmsford last time and if she can build on that again it would see her in the mix. Somehow she remains a maiden though so you’d have to question her willingness in a finish. Blazer Two has also been knocking on the door so deserves a mention but does need to find more.
