Showed promise last season and returned with an encouraging effort beaten less than 2 lengths at Newcastle last time; sure to be a lot sharper now and remains unexposed so good chance he’ll keep improving.
I’m keen to side with MANGO BOY for Chris Wall at Yarmouth on Tuesday. This son of New Bay very much caught the eye on return and if he builds on that run he should prove hard to beat here. He had an awkward start and just took a bit of time to find his stride. He moved into it strongly but the winner had flown by then so I don’t think Jack Mitchell was hard on him. He will improve and this looks a good opportunity. Adelita was second at Nottingham when last seen and she should give her running again, probably the main danger to the fav. Lucayan has won over this C&D but just doesn’t look in good enough form to spring an upset here. Both Strawberry Jack and Keeper have enough to find.

Thirsk 5.52 Belle Of Annandale (7/4)
Stayed on without getting competitive on return at Southwell and improved on that again beaten less than a length at Musselburgh last time; that looks good form too; more to come and looks a leading player.
Keith Dalgleish will be hoping his filly by Australia BELLE OF ANNANDALE can open her account at Thirsk on Tuesday. She certainly deserves to after going so close last time. Both the winner Hilts and runner-up Charles St look nice types so I think that form will work out in time. Even the fourth Nathanael Greene and fifth Trojan Horse are pretty useful so it really could be a handicap to follow going forward. That was just her fifth start so she is still improving and this looks an obvious opportunity for her to finally break her duck. She is bred to keep progressing over this trip and I actually thought she’d be shorter than the 7/4 on offer. The danger is likely Iconique down in grade but she needs to bounce back.
