Thursday Night Football Bets

THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL KICKS-OFF AT 1.20AM (Friday UK time)

Game Spread – Packers -4.5 | Game Total – 46 points

NFL week 3 was a another profitable week for us and we hope to kick off week 4 with yet more winners as the Green Bay Packers host the Philadelphia Eagles.

If you would have guessed each teams records by the time we got to week 4 you would be forgiven for thinking these would have the opposite records however the Packers are unbeaten 3-0 with the Eagles struggling at 1-2.
Key Stats
  • September struggles – The Eagles don’t appear to be a  September team not covering the spread in any of their last 6 in the month.
  • Another under on the cards? – The total has gone under the total in 9 of the last 13 Philly games with Green Bay going 4/6 to the under.
  • Home dominance – Green bay have won 6 of their last 8 at home as many know Lambeau Field is a tough place to go.

Will Rodgers play 2nd fiddle again on Thursday?

It is usually Aaron Rodgers carrying this Green Bay side but this season has started very differently with defence dominating. It is currently ranked the 2nd best defence in the league through 3 games, leading the league in takeaways and has sacked the quarterback 12 times.

The defence has really stepped up meaning its not as noticeable that the offence hasn’t quite clicked yet however the Packers have played again 3 of the top defences in the league in their first 3 games. This is the perfect week to get going against an Eagles defence ranked 24th in the league and didn’t register any sacks against the Lions in the loss last week.

Injuries costing the Eagles?

This Philadelphia side are pretty banged up even at this early stage of the season. It is most evident on offences with DeSean Jackson and Alshon Jeffrey missing games though injury. The Eagles dropped 7 catches against the Lions which could have easily been enough to win that game.

With options limited, Carson Wentz is having to hold onto the ball a lot longer which resulted in him getting sacked 3 times against Detroit who aren’t as good as the Green Bay front he will face on Thursday night. Both win receivers are down as questionable on the injury report and the short week won’t help them get fit in time.

Thursday night football verdict and bet

With the Eagles struggling with injuries I can see the Packers defence limiting them giving the perfect opportunity for the Aaron Rodgers led offence to step up and take their record to 4-0.
As always we will be doubling up with the a total bet so will take the under as the stats strongly point to this.
