MY US NAP RUNS IN RACE 7 AT PHILADELPHIA ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT!

Race 7 Philadelphia 8.37 Scaramouche (13/8)

Promising type who has won 3 of his 6 starts to date and arguably ran a career best in defeat beaten just 2 lengths in a much better race than this last time; can improve again so likely very hard to beat here.

Pitched into a Grade 3 on just his fourth start SCARAMOUCHE is expected to win this. He came up short in that event and again ran in a really good race last time but he was beaten just 2 lengths into third on that occasion and with more to come should prove a cut above these. He will likely go forward and if he sets decent fractions I don’t see them reeling him in. I’m surprised he is around 13/8 in the betting as when looking at this race before the market has formed I expected him to be odds-on. Uncle Irish looks the danger as he was impressive on dirt winning his last two before fluffing his lines on turf last time. If you forgive that he is trending the right way so should run a nice race.

Race 4 Saratoga 7.49 Golden Voice (9/4)

Improving filly who made a winning reappearance and has progressed nicely since that; landed back-to-back wins before failing to get competitive when fourth last time; this easier and should prove the answer.

With both Invaluable and Chaysenbryn coming out (main track only) this looks a good opportunity for GOLDEN VOICE to make it 4 wins from 6 starts this campaign. She has progressive form and while I thought she’d run a little better last time that turned out to be quite a decent race and this is definitely easier. She is 9/4 right now but that price will collapse once we have the final field. Charge Account was fourth last time but only actually beaten three-quarters of a length. If she builds on that she might be the one to finish second but I doubt she is going to improve a great deal being a 5yo now with lots of experience on side. War Canoe is also worth a mention but needs to find more.
