THE US NAP (BEST BET) WON LAST NIGHT AND RUNS IN RACE 9 AT LAUREL PARK ON THURSDAY NIGHT!

Race 9 Laurel Park 9.40 Coconut Cake (11/8)

Really caught the eye on debut going down just half a length and won both starts since, showing a great attitude to get up and win by a nose first time trying dirt here latest; open to improvement and should complete the hat-trick.

The US NAP was back to winning ways last night as Jakarta did it nicely at Kentucky Downs. Tonight we head to Laurel Park and COCONUT CAKE should be hard to beat again. She came from off the pace to win by a nose over the extended 5f here last month and with the step up to 6f firmly in her favour she is taken to make it three straight wins in a row. This is by no means a bad race though so the likelihood is she will need to step forward to take it but there’s every reason to think she will especially with the extra yardage playing to her strengths. Quiet Imagination is the danger as she found plenty to win on penultimate start and wasn’t disgraced beaten into second last time.

Race 4 Golden Gate Fields 10.55 Lyrically Violent (13/8)

Lightly raced filly who won her first two starts in good style; beaten just a length in a valuable contest over C&D on return and sets the standard off the back of that; clearly the one to beat in this line-up.

The NB also landed last night which brought home our 4/1 Daily Double. Hopefully we can follow that up tonight and LYRICALLY VIOLENT catches the eye at Golden Gate. She travelled well before going down just a length on return and with improvement to come off the back of that she should be hard to stop here. She will look to get settled early before swooping late and is very much one to keep on the right side of. Magnolia’s Hope won on dirt last time and is in good order so has to be respected but has a bit to prove switching to this surface for the first time. Market has it between the pair though and that is probably about right. Brahms Command needs to find improvement from somewhere.
