THE NAP (BEST BET) WON AGAIN YESTERDAY AND RUNS AT NEWTON ABBOT ON MONDAY!

Newton Abbot 4.10 Scardura (7/4)

Useful type over hurdles and ran a big race on chase debut finishing second to the progressive Longhouse Sale who has gone on to win his next two; unseated at the first at Perth last time; looks well handicapped.

The NAP won again yesterday as Herman Hesse picked up readily and quickly put it to bed to win again at Nottingham. We head into a new week chasing a hat-trick and SCARDURA looks to have found a great opportunity to get off the mark over fences. He ran a monster race when second to Longhouse Sale at Stratford in July and unseated at the first at Perth last time. If he bounces back he looks handicapped to strike and will likely go off a very short price come post time. Pingshou is the closest in the betting but he has had his issues over fences and even with a wind op has a bit too much to prove for me. Monsieur D’Arque looks the danger as ran well off this mark at Warwick last week.

Hamilton 2.30 Ayr Poet (11/4)

Progressive form having won three of his last four; back to winning ways in good style here 8 days ago finishing strongest from off the pace; can do better yet so no reason why he won’t go close turned out quickly under a penalty.

Sands Chorus and Moxy Mares should make sure this is a pretty good clip and that will suit the favourite AYR POET here. He is thriving at present and put in a career best here last time. He likes to be ridden quietly in the early stages before coming through horses. He impressed again last time and is definitely the one to beat again in this field. Talk Now is also in form and looks the danger. She was only denied a neck to Flying Moon over C&D last week so has to come into the reckoning. Smeaton comes out well on speed figures but often finds one or two too good. He can probably run well without being good enough. I’ll be disappointed if the selection can’t go in again.
