NAP – Best selection of the evening
Newcastle 4.40 Resumption (5/4)
Bred to get better with age and experience and certainly making up for lost time now clocking a career best over C&D again last month; raised 5lb but more to come yet and looks well placed to bring up the hat-trick now.
This looks another obvious opportunity for RESUMPTION to win again and bring up the hat-trick. He really impressed over track and trip last time and with further progress to come he should prove a cut above these under Tom Marquand. He was particularly strong at the line and I don’t see anything in here likely to be finishing well enough to peg him back. In the betting the obvious danger is Onesmoothoperator for Brian Ellison. He has won at this track before and was a good second denied a nose last time. He will need to replicate that again at least up another 2lb to have a chance though and even then it might not be enough. Wise Eagle best of the rest but will come on for the run.

Lingfield 3.20 Movethechains (9/4)
Progressive chaser who ran out an impressive winner again over C&D when last seen back in November; improving with experience and a 17lb rise asks for more but he still looks well ahead of his mark; hard to beat.
Gary Moore continues in good form and he’ll be looking forward to unleashing MOVETHECHAINS again at Lingfield on Tuesday. This horse had no problem bringing up a C&D hat-trick when last seen in November and with potential to do better yet I still don’t think the handicapper has caught up with him. This is competitive but with a strong pace engaged he should travel strongly under Jamie Moore and will likely be cutting back rivals late. Tallow For Coal has won 2 of his last 3 and impressed at Exeter. He is up 8lb and has a bright future too but might just be bumping into one. Frenchy Du Large also looks a horse firmly on the upgrade so can’t be ignored either in a good race.
