NAP – Best selection of the evening
Kelso 1.50 Masked Crusader (5/4)
Promising sort who built on an encouraging debut over hurdles to win in the style of a nice prospect at Carlisle back in February; made all and always looked in control; more to come now and good chance he follows up.
I know the betting has this as a two-horse race between Donny Boy and MASKED CRUSADER but I’m confident the latter wins this and wins it well. He really impressed me at Carlisle and with further improvement to come I think he can follow up under Brian Hughes. The form of that win has been franked too with the runner-up Parisencore following up by 10 lengths next time out at Haydock despite being slammed some 31 lengths by the selection. Donny Boy is actually favourite at the time of writing and while he is respected I’m not sure he deserves to be a shorter price than the selection. He was brought down in a fiercely competitive novice hurdle at Kelso. I think he needs more.

Redcar 4.53 Al Qaasim (5/2)
Took form up a notch winning on the AW twice at Southwell back in January; beaten the last twice but not by far and more to come over this trip now; needs to settle but this looks a good opportunity so worth chancing.
We head to Redcar for our second best bet on Monday and AL QAASIM looks the one to side with for David O’Meara and Daniel Tudhope. This son of Free Eagle landed back-to-back wins on the AW at Southwell back in the winter and I thought he ran well when beaten under 2 lengths over this trip last month. With more to come he can get back in the winners enclosure. The danger looks to be the hat-trick seeking Cathayensis who has impressed recently but needs to prove herself on the turf now. She also goes up in trip so has a few questions to answer which makes the selection a strong play at the prices. Kingson has won 2 of his last 3 but did look all out last time and this will require more.
Daily Double
The Daily Double consists of both the NAP and NB and is a great way of covering our two best bets of the day to maximise profit. They run at Kelso and Redcar on Monday.
