Monday’s UK & Irish Notebooks
4 winners from our last 7 Notebooks with Time Scale winning at Newmarket yesterday. They run at Yarmouth and Thirsk as we look to start a new week on a high. Tracker Double pays 8/1!
Yarmouth 2.00 Parent’s Prayer (5/2)
Kingman filly who cost €165,000 as a 2yo and is a half-sister to Production; shaped really well on debut in a race that has worked out nicely since; can improve and looks a leading player in this field.
There was a lot to like about the debut effort of PARENT’S PRAYER for Archie Watson. She raced keenly in the early stages before making good headway squeezing between horses to finish second. She struck me as a filly that would know a lot more next time and with the winner having gone in again since and even the sixth Ligera winning (and looking a nice prospect) she looks to have a big shout here. Byzantia ran well behind the latter when third at Lingfield and is improving so looks to be the main danger.
Thirsk 5.00 Sambucca Spirit (2/1)
Everything seemed to click when winning at Redcar last week, doing it comfortably at the line; looks well treated turned out quickly under a penalty and likely to take plenty of beating; most likely winner.
We head to Thirsk for our second tracker of the day and SAMBUCCA SPIRIT won well last week and turned out quickly under a 5lb penalty looks a good bet to go in again for Paul Midgley. Montalvan looks the only danger to me. The latter ran well when beaten narrowly into third at Ripon and should still have races in him off this mark. Hard to pick out much else in a race lacking strength in depth. If I had to give one for the frame at a price then it would probably be Hello Girl.
The Notebook Double consists of both tracker runners. Remember these are profitable to follow as singles so it’s always worth combining them as a double as well to maximise profit.
