THE US NAP RUNS IN RACE 4 AT SARATOGA ON SUNDAY NIGHT!

Race 4 Saratoga 7.54 Candy Cornell (11/10)

Smart type who has been in good form lately winning impressively by 4 lengths at Oaklawn in March; held his form well since finishing second on next start bumping into a good horse and then shaping well on return at Keeneland; the one to beat.

This looks a good opportunity for the consistent CANDY CORNELL to get his head back in front. He showed what he can do when things go in his favour winning by 4 lengths at Oaklawn in March and has finished runner-up twice since. He will be fitter now for his reappearance run and can see these off. Releasethethunder is feared most as he also shaped well on return when third to Aspect. Expect the favourite to have too much if it comes down to a battle in the straight though.

Race 1 Pleasanton 10.45 Sunny Spot (11/8)

Useful individual who found plenty off the bridle to win gamely over track and trip last month, nicely on top at the line; obvious chance if turning up here in the same form as this doesn’t look much harder.

The money has already started to come for SUNNY SPOT and I can see him being a warm order come post time. He won well over track and trip last time and a similar effort should suffice. Stone Groove did plenty early when outkicked into third here last time and would be a danger if running up to that level again. Stablemate If I Had A Nickel is also not completely ignored as he ran well on a synthetic surface last time. Back on dirt here and a bit to prove but certainly not entirely ruled out. Hard to look past the favourite though!
