Turffontein 1.25 Virocana (5/2)
Vercingetorix filly who stepped forward from her debut run to chase home Summer Pudding over C&D last year; career best on return from 330 days off the track when beaten narrowly into second over track and trip last time; more to come.
This looks a great chance for VIROCANA to open her account. She ran a cracker back from a lengthy absence and with the promise of more to come should take this out. She finished ahead of Stunning who was back in fourth and should confirm that form here. Zodiac Princess has proved consistent so looks a danger. Sapphire Rock has also been running well enough to at least hit the frame. Hard to look past the favourite though who is open to the most amount of improvement.

Turffontein 12.15 National Liberty (5/2)
Potala Palace gelding who is a half brother to Lady Of Liberty who won three times between 6f and 7f; ran a promising race on debut when beaten just a couple of lengths by a more experienced colt at Vaal; big chance of going one better.
This looks competitive but NATIONAL LIBERTY should prove the answer. He showed plenty of ability to finish second on debut and with the promise of more to come can go one better now. He missed out only to a horse with more experience so it will be disappointing if he can’t take care of these. Valyrian King is probably the standard setter so has to be respected. Hopefully the selection improves past him though. Hard to recommend much else as I think the market has it more a less spot on.
