NAP – Best selection of the evening

THE US NAP (BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 3 AT SANTA ANITA ON SATURDAY NIGHT!

Race 3 Santa Anita 9.03 Kalypso (11/10)

Progressive filly who has won 2 of her last 3 and impressed last time knuckling down well under pressure before asserting in good style at the finish; this easier so she has leading claims; one to keep on side.

No luck last night but hopefully we can bounce back as we landed the DD on Thursday so have been in good form overall. We head to Santa Anita for our best bet and KALYPSO should be hard to beat in Race 3 on the card. This filly was only beaten just over a length in a Grade 1 so with this being a Grade 3 it looks easier than what she’s been contesting lately. She showed a good attitude to win a Grade 2 last time and a similar performance should be good enough to see these off. Brilliant Cut was back in third on that occasion and looks held again. Moonlight D’Oro won well last time and if she steps forward again she looks to be the biggest danger to the selection.

Race 9 Aqueduct 9.55 Earned Success (6/4)

Useful sort who has won 2 of his last 4; ran below par over 6f here last month but would be the one to beat if bouncing back to his best here; previous form reads strong and expected to have too much for these.

We head to Aqueduct on Saturday night for our second best bet and EARNED SUCCESS looks the one to beat in the lucky last. He dug in bravely to win a better race than this on penultimate start and while he wasn’t seen to best effect last time he wasn’t disgraced so if he’s back to his best back up to the extended 6f he will be hard to peg back. Autostrade comes here with questions to answer himself having been beaten 20 lengths on penultimate start and 10 lengths last time. He is better than that but needs to show it to get involved. It’s a weak race so it will be disappointing if the favourite can’t see these off in the closing stages. O Shea Can U See might be the biggest danger if fit on his return.
