Smart horse with 9 wins from 27 starts and comes here at the top of his game after winning here and then at Mackay last time; steps back up in trip but likely to push forward and should take the beating.

Let’s get the Aussie NAP back firing! We head to Townsville in the early hours of Friday morning and the hat-trick seeking BRAD can go in again. The step back up in trip does make it tougher but he looks well placed and has leading claims again. He is sure to push forward and will look to grind these into submission. Jemadar ran on well from off the pace to score here before doing too much early on last time when second. Looks the one most likely to give the favourite a race. Dalon certainly knows how to win but did disappoint last time. He comes here with a few questions to answer and the jolly just looks a better all round bet. It’s 14/1 bar those mentioned in a race lacking depth.

Race 3 Ballina 3.10 Satine (11/10)

Likeable filly who had won 2 of her last 3 before running a bit below par last time; that was a strong race though and it has since produced three winners from the race; 3kg claimer a big plus and she can bounce back here.

Back into calmer waters SATINE looks the one they all have to beat. She justified strong support pushing forward and winning the 60 easily at Ipswich and then went to Doomben when she was beaten less than 4 lengths by some good horses. The form has been strongly franked since with three of those winning and she should have too much for these back down in grade with the 3kg claimer going on. Kirra Lass is a consistent filly even though she wasn’t at her best last time. If she bounces back she should play a role here and can give the selection a race but I’ll be surprised if she beats her. Most likely to chase her home though. Emmy’s Our Girl was slowly away last time and is also respected.
