Race 5 Newcastle 4.50 Mr Polar (6/4)

Useful type who has 6 wins from 29 starts with 3 of those coming over this trip; two wins at this track also a positive; plenty going for him and hard to oppose bringing winning form to the table.

What a night Down Under! Not only did the NAP and NB land bringing home the DD the Mega Acca also went in at a monster 30/1! Hopefully we can back that up overnight. The NAP is now chasing FOUR IN A ROW and we head to Newcastle in the early hours of Friday morning. MR POLAR justified favouritism to win over C&D last time and he looks well placed to follow up for Charlie Porter and Winona Costin. He has a good draw from gate two and it will be disappointing if he’s beaten. Invincible Kiss was beaten just a nose by Brazen Gem last time and that’s good form. She looks the danger but just 5 wins from 41 starts means she’s more exposed than the selection.

Likeable type who improved on his reappearance fourth to win here last month, well on top at the line; sure to build on that now and has potential to rate a lot higher so worth keeping on side against these.

The NB landed overnight and hopefully we can fire in another winner on Friday morning as we head to Rockhampton. I LOVE THE HIPPY won in the style of an improver last time and if he steps forward again he should have too much for these. Calculated Risk is the obvious threat as he comes here chasing a hat-trick. He is more exposed than the selection though so will have his work cutout if the fav progresses as expected. I do think it’s between the pair but Dip Dye shouldn’t be far away despite the wide gate. She is probably the likely pace so if she pushes forward that will suit the selection as he can just track her through. A Girl Like Alice is back from 2 months off so is entitled to need it.
