Race 4 Warrnambool 4.35 Saunter Boy (4/5)

Talented sort who has 8 wins and 10 placings from 42 starts; won 2 of his last 4 now and despite rising in weight he comfortably looks the one to beat again in this line up; plenty going for him so worth keeping on side.

We head to Warrnambool overnight for our best bet and the ultra consistent SAUNTER BOY can win again. He is likely to race prominently with Out And Dreaming and should be hard to get past in the closing stages as since he’s gone up in trip he has looked even better. Out And Dreaming is improving winning his last 3 but this is tougher again so while he looks the danger I think the selection might always have his measure here. Inayforhay is building a nice profile and also can’t be left out of calculations but again has enough to find to beat the selection. Instigator needs more but probably best of the rest. Past those mentioned hard to see anything else getting involved and causing an upset.

Race 6 Hobart 5.25 Brinktop Lad (11/8)

Good looking chestnut who improved to make the breakthrough over track and trip last time; certainly deserved that and with the promise of more to come I think he can follow up here before going on to better things in time.

I liked the way BRINKTOP LAD won last time and while he is probably going to come into his own over further it’s all the more encouraging that he already has his head in front. He can keep progressing and looks well placed to follow up. Price collapsing all the time so might be worth locking in the odds now. Robben Island is a decent type but she has just the 1 win from 20 starts so in terms of winning this she has to be vulnerable. I think she’ll be bang there and is a danger but the selection has potential to improve past her and then some. Herman’s Bells is consistent enough but again has just the 1 win from 25 starts so is hard to recommend. This really is a good opportunity for the favourite.
