NAP – Best selection of the evening

THE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS AT GOODWOOD AGAIN ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON!

Goodwood 2.50 Firth Of Clyde (10/11)

Gleneagles colt who has improved with every run bumping into a nice horse when second at Epsom and then only chinned a neck at Newmarket last time; sets the standard and more to come up in trip so hard to oppose.

It’s hard to look past FIRTH OF CLYDE here for Paul Cole. This colt is gradually improving and with the extra furlong likely to play to his strengths I think he can open his account at the fourth time of asking. He will go forward under Buick and he is likely to take a lot of pegging back. Shabbab shaped with promise when fourth on debut and if he improves he will give the selection most to think about. He was a bit short of room on that occasion but the form doesn’t look overly strong. Sir Percy colt Berkshire Rebel is the most interesting of the debutants but you’d think he’ll come on for the run and experience. Same comments apply to Majestic Fighter who is well related but might need it.

NAP

Goodwood 2.50 Firth Of Clyde (10/11)

Beverley 1.55 Beltane (7/4)

Fast Company colt who shaped with plenty of promise when third on debut at Carlisle and then bumped into a good horse when second and clear from the rest at Catterick last time; sure to be sharper now and can improve again.

I think this revolves around BELTANE here for Keith Dalgleish. This colt by Fast Company sets a pretty good standard on what we’ve seen so far and with further improvement on the cards he should take a lot of beating. I was quite surprised to see him installed at 7/4 as I thought that second to Sweeping with the pair nicely clear would see him a fair bit shorter than that. Iffraaj colt Choirmaster was a good third on debut but he has enough to find to trouble this favourite. Carbon is also likely to improve but he will need to if he is to get competitive. Of the debutants Fylde Coast is the most interesting. This colt by Birchwood is certainly one to keep an eye on but likely to be better for the experience.
