York 2.37 Faisal (7/2)
Golden Horn colt who made a bright start winning his first three in the style of a smart horse; bumped into subsequent Cambridgeshire second Anmaat at Doncaster last time but lost little in defeat; more to come yet so big chance here.
This looks between the top two in the market and I’m keen on FAISAL turning the favourite over. This son of Golden Horn won his first three starts before a very good second at Doncaster last time. The winner of that race Anmaat has since chased home Bedouin’s Story in the Cambridgeshire so the form has been franked. He has more to come off his current handicap mark of 99 and I can’t see how he doesn’t go close here. New Bay colt Bay Bridge was impressive in the London Gold Cup when last seen in May but this will be tougher up against a race-fit rival off a 15lb higher mark. Sinjaari carries top-weight and would need a big performance to lower the colours of the top two here.

Newmarket 1.10 Exminster (7/2)
Ribchester colt who was a big eye-catcher switched to nurseries when third to Outgate at Haydock last time, given a lot to do but finishing strongly for a close-up third; could do with a strong pace to aim at but clearly ahead of his mark.
This is quite a good race but I like the chances of EXMINSTER here for Ed Bethell. He made a perfect start winning on debut despite looking inexperienced and probably ran as well as could have been asked when third under a penalty at Ripon next time. Back down to this trip at Haydock on nursery debut he ran a cracker closing up rapidly in the final furlong having been given a lot to do. That experience won’t have been lost on him and with further improvement to come I think he can get back in the winners enclosure. There is potential for Point Lynas, Captain’s Bar and Fabiosa all to go forward and if they go a good clip that will suit the selection. American Star looks the biggest danger.
