Race 9 Churchill Downs 10.06 Amendment Nineteen (11/10)

Promising filly who acquitted herself well in graded company when last seen finishing a good third in the Remington Park Oaks; this much easier and she remains open to further improvement so leading claims now.

After such a good run of US NAP winners Jackie’s Warrior let us down at the Breeders’ Cup last night. He just didn’t give his true running for me and should bounce back in time. We’ll be looking to get back on track tonight and we head to Churchill Downs. AMENDMENT NINETEEN ran well in a Grade 3 last time and with more to come after just 4 starts she should take care of this bunch. She has a touch of class about her and I think the best is yet to come. Lady Frosted hacked up over track and trip last month and she looks the danger albeit stepping up in grade now. Lady Traveler was well held last time but shouldn’t be far away if bouncing back as previous run was encouraging.

Race 4 Mountaineer Park 1.15 Dazzling Mist (6/4)

Improving filly who ran a big race on debut to finish third despite looking inexperienced; quickly built on that to win well at Thistledown last time; hard to oppose with more to come now and looks one to keep on side against these.

Last time out winner DAZZLING MIST can make it 2 wins from 3 starts. She is getting better with experience and was always holding on last time having set decent fractions. She is going to improve and should have too much for these under likely aggressive tactics again. O K Baby is probably the danger as she only went down a neck at this level last time and has the form in the book. Margaret Drive was behind the latter last time so has enough to prove to close that gap. Love’s Tavito won easily last time on a sloppy track but this is tougher and she is going to need more as has come up short at this sort of level before. Organza and Parker Madison just don’t look good enough to challenge.
