Exeter 12.20

This isn’t the best race with not many of these having any good form over 3 miles on very soft ground. I am going to take a chance on DAYDREAM AULMES for Christian Williams. It is his first run for the yard and I think he has plenty to offer at this trip if anywhere near fully fit. He ran well at Ascot over a similar trip on soft ground in 2019 before falling. He has won on a soft surface before and in a weak race he should have a fair chance.

Dan’s Chosen has mixed from but won his P2P over 3 miles on soft so isn’t without a chance here. The main danger could be Dynamite Kentucky who ran well at Fakenham on soft ground to finish second. He is down in the handicap again and that makes him a threat to all his rivals.

Exeter 12.50

Fuji Flight didn’t run badly when fifth at Haydock and he should find this easier but my worry with him is he has never won a race and I think he is favourite based on the stable form more than his handicap mark to be honest. He should run well but I much prefer NOTEBOOK for Jonjo O’Neill. This son of Fame And Glory won three times over hurdles and was in the process of making a winning start over fences before falling at the last at Lingfield.

Better was expected at Cheltenham but he was given quite a bit to do and was never really going to pace to get competitive. This is easier and down a 1lb I think he is the one to beat. Illegal Model and Tallow For Coal may well take each other on so it could pay to be ridden patiently and with usual luck in-running hopefully the selection can pick them off late.

Exeter 1.20

This looks a good race with the top 3 in the market having great chances. KISSESFORKATIE though looks the one to beat. She ran over course and distance last week was very impressive and that was a big step forward from her previous form. This is likely due to the heavy ground which she seems to thrive on. If she is in the same from the 7lb higher mark shouldn’t stop her winning again.

Georges Saint ran well on debut for Venetia Williams and will be dangerous here. He clearly loves soft ground and is very unexposed off a mark of 119. Honneur D’Ajonc is in great form but my only worry with him is the ability to handle this heavy surface with his best form on good ground.

The market is struggling to split Langley Hundred and DANCING WITH DECO and I think that’s how the race will pan out. They both bring considerable potential to the table so it may just come down to who handles the ground best on the day. I like the latter off the back of that near miss in a bumper at Southwell. He chased home Frontline Citizen in a point over 3 miles so clearly stays well. Langley Hundred shaped quite well on hurdles debut sent off 50/1 over C&D last month and is entitled to improve.

Of the rest Bluffmeifyoucan is bred to be pretty useful but needs to drop his head if he is going to see out his races. Thruthelookinglass was well held on debut over C&D in a bumper but should leave that behind in time now tackling obstacles.

Exeter 2.30

This handicap chase looks pretty competitive but MORNING SPIRIT‘s run over course and distance last month was a good performance to finish a close second. He had plenty of these behind him that day and I think he will be a lot better for the experience after just 2 runs over fences and could have plenty more to come.

Ede’iffs Elton is vying for favouritism with our selection at the time of writing and is interesting off a much lower weight but I feel the selection has more scope for improvement. Musical Slave has had a wind op since last seen and that might help him bounce back on return.

Exeter 3.05

This is probably the most competitive race of the day so it won’t surprise you that I’ve taken two against the field. My main play would be JUST GO FOR IT for Mitchell Hunt and James Best. This Passing Glance mare turned into a bit of a gamble on reappearance before taking a tumble. If she can put in a clear round then connections clearly feel she is ahead of the assessor off a mark of 91 so definitely worth including.

My other play would be SIENNA ROYALE here. She was only narrowly denied in first-time cheekpieces over C&D last month and a 3lb rise for that looks fair. If she can build on that again and the headgear has the same desired effect she is a big player. Dangers include Lightonthewing and Blackfinch. The latter is 0-14 but has run some big races in defeat and this isn’t overly strong.

Exeter 3.35

This doesn’t look like a race that will take much winning with most of these having questions to answer. BELLAMY’S GREY finished a close third over course and distance last month which was a marked improvement on his previous form. He will face similar conditions on Tuesday and if in the same form looks the most straight forward horse in field and at decent odds.

Do Ya Feel Lucky has some solid form but can be very inconsistent especially on softer ground so I am not sure I fully trust her as favourite. Galactic Power was in good form when last seen in March and would be my idea of the main danger if near full fitness and is an each way price.

Exeter 4.05

We cap off the card at Exeter on Tuesday with a bumper and usually I try not to have a strong opinion in these types of races but CRUZ CONTROL does look a standout. He shaped with a great deal of promise when well backed on debut at Chepstow and beat them all bar Marco Island who looks a nice prospect. He has since finished second on hurdles debut so has definitely franked to form somewhat. He should improve and only looks to have one horse to beat.

That horse is Feast for Fergal O’Brien. He is bred to be pretty useful and also caught the eye when fifth on debut at Southwell. With usual improvement he should fight it out with the selection. Hard to see anything else springing a surprise but Having A Barney could build on that debut fourth at Ffos Las.
