NAP – Best selection of the evening
Doncaster 1.05 City Chief (1/1)
Expensive purchase after winning an Irish point; shaped with plenty of encouragement when runner-up on debut over hurdles at Ascot last month, staying on well; sure to be more streetwise now and good chance to go one better.
With that outing at Ascot under his belt CITY CHIEF should be hard to beat at Doncaster on Tuesday for Nicky Henderson and Nico de Boinville. He was briefly short of room before keeping on well last time and was only beaten 3 lengths at the line. He still has plenty of potential and this looks a good opportunity for him to strike. Wonderwall was in the process of running a big race before making a mistake at the last at Newbury. He will need to brush his jumping up to trouble the selection. The Street took a step forward to finish third here last time and looks comfortably best of the rest if building on that. Lubeat Foras should have a future too but is probably bumping into at least a couple here.

Southwell 5.50 Totally Charming (5/4)
Improved to win at Wolverhampton in the summer despite still showing clear signs of inexperience; picked up where he left off for his new yard at Kempton at the weekend; hard to beat turned out quickly under a penalty.
An opening mark of just 78 on handicap debut looked massively generous for TOTALLY CHARMING as he won impressively at Kempton on Saturday evening. It’s no surprise to see his new connections turn him out quickly under a penalty and he should complete the hat-trick. Lammas clocked a career best over C&D on reappearance and looks the most obvious danger up 4lb. Plastic Paddy was back to form denied just half a length at Newcastle last month and if he can transfer that form to this track then he also deserves another look but they all have it to do to keep tabs on this well handicapped favourite. Gypsy Whisper is consistent but would have to be vulnerable from a win perspective.
