NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE US NAP (BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 8 AT GULFSTREAM ON THURSDAY!
Race 9 Gulfstream Park 9.42 Mezcal (11/8)
Promising filly who improved to make the breakthrough at Belmont on penultimate start, finishing strongly; bumped into a good horse when second last time probably racing too soon; scope to progress further and hard to oppose.
I’m looking forward to seeing MEZCAL back out again at Gulfstream on Thursday night. This filly looks to have untapped potential and with the promise of more to come can get back in the winners enclosure tonight and make it 2 from her last 3. I think she was ridden too forward last time and if she can get a toe in that will suit her better. Be Up might be the danger but she will need to leave that last run behind as that was disappointing. Prior to that she looked to be on the up so is the most likely danger. Champagne Ivy won 3 starts back but has been beaten twice since. She looks the solid one from a place perspective but I do think she is vulnerable from a win point of view.

Race 7 Fair Grounds 10.05 Supremacy (13/8)
Improving colt who left his debut run behind opening his account at just the second attempt, ridden confidently; took another big step forward to win at Churchill Downs when last seen in May; further progression on the cards and can complete the hat-trick.
This looks a great chance for SUPREMACY to make it 3 in a row! He is a colt going places judging by the way he won when last seen and this looks a good starting point before targeting him at bigger prizes down the line. Starburst looks the pace angle so he should go hard from the front and help set it up for the selection who should be good enough to swoop late. Snow House ran creditably in defeat when a close third at Belmont last time and if he matches that sort of form again tonight that could see him emerge as the main danger. Santa Cruiser was thrashed last time but did win prior to that and if he bounces back he might not be far away but he lacks the potential the favourite brings to the table.
Evening Double
The Evening Double consists of both the NAP & NB and is a great way of covering our two best bets of the night to maximise profit. They run at Gulfstream and Fair Grounds on Thursday night.
