NAP – Best selection of the evening

Catterick 2.40 Sidi Ismael (11/4)

Progressive sort who has improved with every run since joining this stable; strong staying display to come out on top at Market Rasen last time and extra yardage only going to help; up 8lb but more to come yet.

It was a slow motion finish at Market Rasen last time but SIDI ISMAEL had all the answers and he looks a dour stayer. That was his third win in a row since joining this yard and he doesn’t look done improving yet. He goes up in trip again and a further 8lb rise shouldn’t be enough to stop him running another big race. Chef D’Oeuvre was pulled up at Haydock but if he bounces back he could be the danger as he stays all day as well. Almazhar Garde will likely go off the front and I wouldn’t want to see him given too much rope but even still he will need to jump better to stay there. Who’s In The Box is likeable and might be the one to chase the fav home if Chef D’Oeuvre ends up disappointing again.

NAP

Catterick 2.40 Sidi Ismael (11/4)

Chelmsford 6.00 Hathlool (7/4)

Ran on well to open his account over C&D back in November and back in the winners enclosure at Wolverhampton last month, showing a good attitude to lead on the line; form franked since; go close.

This looks a good opportunity for the likeable HATHLOOL to make it 3 wins from his last 4. He looked good winning over track and trip in November and was back to his best beating a subsequent winner in Daheer a nose at Wolverhampton last time. He has more to come and a first-time hood can help him settle better as well. He is up 3lb but has further improvement in the locker so it’s no surprise to see him as favourite for this. State Secretary won nicely at Wolverhampton in November and wasn’t disgraced despite only finishing fifth at Kempton and looks the most obvious threat on form. Alhammaam fared best of those ridden prominently here last time but still needs more going back up in trip.
