Leicester 1.20
This looks a fairly competitive race with the 3 at the head of the market showing really good form. None more so than GAIA VALLIS who is going for her hat-trick here after two nice wins. Her last win was the best so far back in handicap company and if in the same form she will take some beating with only a 2lb rise. She is back slightly in trip which should help and she has more going for her here than most so looks worth chancing.
River Tyne stepping up in trip is the danger as I think she will improve for it and go well here. White Hart Lady will have her say as well. At a much bigger price Green or Black could run a big race to nick a place now down to a mark of 97.
Leicester 1.50
It’s 6/1 bar the field at the time of writing so that gives you an idea of how open this handicap chase is on paper. I’m going to take a chance on ANIGHTINLAMBOURN for Ben Pauling and Kielan Woods. She was very much back to form when third at Doncaster when last seen in November and freshened up since she could run a big race on debut over fences. A mark of 105 should be well within reach and she looks set for a decent run.
Plenty of dangers but the main threat could be Do It For Thy Sen who won twice earlier in the season but has gone off the boil a bit since. He is just 1lb above his last winning mark though so could revive. Just Don’t Know and Coupdebol are also respected.
Leicester 2.20
It is strange to see GO STEADY in another novice hurdle with all the experience he has over fences. The level of his win over C&D in handicap company two runs ago would be good enough to win this. He has form above what most of these have shown so far and it would take a big improver to beat him. This trip looks his optimum and he seems to have plenty going for him so I can see him being well backed come post time.
Bowtogreatness won last time out at Ffos Los and rates the main danger. The form of that race doesn’t look as good as the selection so he would need to improve. Extraordinary Man is still a maiden but should enjoy going up in trip and may also be in the mix.
Leicester 2.50
This looks a straight shootout between the top two in the betting and a tentative vote goes to WALK IN CLOVER on debut for Dan Skelton. She is going to need to improve but she is certainly bred to be pretty useful being by Walk In The Park and she only found the one too good at Uttoxeter. She will get further in time but hopefully her stamina kicks in here late on and she can get the better of the argument.
Legendary Grace made the breakthrough at Worcester in the summer and could still do better but the drop back in trip and a penalty was enough to put me off. I can still see her putting up plenty of resistance though so it should still be a good race to watch.
Leicester 3.20
Even with just 9 going to post it is 9/2 the field at the time of writing and it is wide open. It could pay to have an each way bet on ZUCKERBERG who has gone well off this mark before. He was third at Huntingdon 10 days ago and the drop in trip should suit. I think he will outrun his odds here and he looks one of the better each way plays on the card. There could also be value in backing him to place (link below).
Percussion is fav at the time of writing and should go well if as good at this trip as he was last time at Fontwell when winning well. Waikiki Waves always has to be considered a danger if jumping well and Silent Assistant will appreciate the step back up in trip.
Leicester 3.50
Brave Seasca looks a really smart horse for Venetia Williams so TOKAY DOKEY finishing second to him at Warwick looks very strong form now. He bolted up himself by 13 lengths at Market Rasen last time and a big rise in the weights still doesn’t look enough to anchor him. He looks to have the most potential in this field and I’ll be surprised if he is beaten. He should get a nice toe in from Nero Rock which can also help his claims.
Golden Boy Grey bumped into Galop De Chasse at Lingfield before winning at Taunton. That was a likeable run and he is the danger but his form just isn’t as strong as that of the favourite. Xcitations isn’t entirely ruled out either as he should still have more to come.
Leicester 4.20
Not the strongest race which should give TINNAHALLA a good chance of getting his nose in front after a very good run over course and distance when last seen. He had dropped down to mark of 120 which seems a winnable mark for him. He is up 1lb for this but has had a wind-op so I would expect more improvement and a big run. He is still lightly raced for this yard so they will be hoping he still has more to offer yet.
Made For You is worse off at the weights with the selection but he did beat him in that race here last time so could still be a danger. Happy And Fine took a big step forward last time and if he can reproduce it at this trip he will be in the mix as well.
Leicester Lucky 15
Jumps racing is back on Tuesday as we head to Leicester. We have included some of our best bets on the card to make another Lucky 15. Pays 170/1!
