NAP – Best selection of the evening
Leicester 3.50 Tokay Dokey (11/8)
Improving fast judging by the way he travelled through the race before going clear easily at Market Rasen last month; handicapper reacted raising him 11lb but not done progressing yet and with more to come can follow up.
Brave Seasca looks a really smart horse for Venetia Williams so TOKAY DOKEY finishing second to him at Warwick looks very strong form now. He bolted up himself by 13 lengths at Market Rasen last time and a big rise in the weights still doesn’t look enough to anchor him. He looks to have the most potential in this field and I’ll be surprised if he is beaten. Golden Boy Grey bumped into Galop De Chasse at Lingfield before winning at Taunton. That was a likeable run and he is the danger but his form just isn’t as strong as that of the favourite. Xcitations isn’t entirely ruled out either as he won at Doncaster last month and should still have more to come over fences but this is obviously tougher.

Lingfield 2.30 Pablo Del Pueblo (13/8)
Speedy sort who won convincingly over track and trip back in November; went off hard when pegged back late over 7f last time; hard to beat back down to 6f here under similar tactics; looks the most likely winner.
Jack Duern is likely to be aggressive on PABLO DEL PUEBLO again here and if he gets loose like he did last time I don’t think he’ll come back to them back a furlong in trip. He is still lightly raced so can improve again as well given this is just his fifth start in a handicap. He will get plenty of these off the bridle and it’s just whether he sustains it through the line. Big Time Maybe has been around an age but he likes it here and could be the one to give him most to think about late. I personally think he’ll slip the field though so it’ll be a big ask to peg him back over this trip. Knockout Blow has also won over C&D before and if getting away on terms might be involved at some point.
