Naas 12.40

It was great to see STATTLER make a winning start over fences at Fairyhouse last month. I think connections always knew with him anything he did over hurdles was a bonus and he really relished the switch to chasing. This is definitely a sterner test of his credentials but he’s a horse I like a lot and I think he can make it 2-2 here before going on to bigger targets. I particularly liked the way he asserted and crossed the line with plenty to spare.

The biggest danger is likely Farouk D’Alene now Run Wild Fred has come out. He also made a winning start over fences beating Blue Sari and then missed just a short head at Limerick. That form certainly gives him a chance. Vanillier is also entitled to go well but he was beaten 18 lengths behind Fury Road at Leopardstown last time.

Naas 1.10

Wide open contest as you would expect from most Irish handicaps with KRABAT being the standout in the race for me. He is a different horse since handicapping with two very good runs over hurdles. Now chasing again he is very unexposed and should run a big race on his current form. He is a strong travelling horse and I can see him going well until 2 out and then it will come down to how much he can find on the day.

Regina Dracones is the main danger chasing her hat-trick with two good wins over fences. She likely has more to come but may want the ground a little softer. Carrolls Cottage is the other who looks to be finding top form but her best run to date was on heavy ground. Jacksons Gold is fav tackling handicap company for the first time.

Naas 1.40

Despite being a bit uneasy in the betting SAINT FELICIEN made no mistake on debut under Rules at Gowran and looks a really nice horse. He is open to plenty of improvement and can make it a perfect 2-2 here before being targeted at bigger prizes. The danger is probably Whiskey Sour who was a good fifth in a strong race at Fairyhouse and should go well if repeating that sort of form here.

Petit Mouchoir isn’t getting any younger and was thrashed on return at Leopardstown. He is going to need to come on plenty from that to get competitive here. Darasso won at Navan before struggling in top company last time so he might be best of the rest as this is easier at least.

Naas 2.10

This doesn’t look the best maiden considering the quality we usually get this side of the sea but CHAMPION GREEN looks a solid bet on what he has shown so far. His first two hurdle runs were amongst the best on offer and was fancied to get his head in front at Punchestown last time out. The jockey lost his irons that day and had to pull him up so he has a great chance to bounce back here.

Saywhatyouwant has shown signs of being a good horse but looks inconsistent and Only Sky may prove to be a big danger on the best of his Flat form running for Jessie Harrington. Magic Word can do better further down the line in handicaps so looks opposable. Minella Youngy is an intriguing debutant but this is a tough enough start.

Naas 2.40

Not a great deal of form to go on here which makes life tough for the punter so a narrow vote goes to EVERGREEN AND RED for Noel Meade. This son of Requinto was fairy useful on the Flat and caught the eye going close at Gowran Park in October last year. He was well off the pace that day but made up good ground and went down just half a length. He should relish the switch to hurdles and looks one of the more likely winners.

The biggest danger looks to be Brunello who was a maiden on the Flat but shaped well when fifth on debut in a bumper at Punchestown last month. He was beaten a fair way but the winner Pied Piper has looked potentially smart winning at Cheltenham yesterday so the form is hard to pick holes in. Faron is also worth another look in the betting.

Naas 3.10

Compared to the other maidens on the card this looks a step above. THE NICE GUY for Willie Mullins looks the one to beat after 2 wins from 2 national hunt flat starts with the last one looking good on the clock as well. He is likely to be even better over hurdles and give his trainer another winner of this race. He has won it 3 times in the past 6 years with The Big Getaway, Ballyward and Augustin and this horse could be another nice type.

Mahelr Allstar and The Short Go look the main dangers with what they have already done over hurdles but may not have the scope of the selection. Ramillies didn’t really fulfil early potential he showed in bumpers but he is also worth another look now tackling hurdles for the first time.

Naas 3.40

I really liked Womalko for this but he has been taken out this morning. I’m going to chance FIRE SQUADRON now for Gordon Elliott. This son of Fame And Glory is very much the dark horse in the race having only had 4 runs to date. He goes handicapping now off an opening mark of just 116 and that could prove very lenient. That was a tough ask at Navan last time and he was never put in the race which makes him an eye-catcher for me.

The main danger is probably Big King who disappointed at Galway but he has been freshened up since and he is almost certainly capable of better. Union Park also deserves a second look as he was a good third at Thurles and while he might not have as much in hand as a few that form definitely brings him into it from an each way perspective.

Naas 4.10

If The Nice Guy wins earlier in the day this horse will be even more fancied after he finished second to him on debut. SANTONITO has ran two absolute crackers in good national hunt flat races to finish second and I expect him to get the win here. He lost out by a nose last time and is the one to beat. As always in these sorts of races I’ll be keeping an eye on the market as wouldn’t want to see him drift too much.

Battle Frontier is the only other one in the field that I think could have say based on what they have done so far. That said Seabank Bistro for Willie Mullins is interesting and could prove the main danger. Walk In The Park gelding Western Walk could also hit the frame and might be a nice type going forward so worth keeping an eye on too.
