NAP – Best selection of the evening

Chelmsford 5.45 Alhammaam (2/1)

Impressed with the way he won at Newcastle back in December running on well; held his form since and denied a run at a crucial stage at Kempton last time; step back up in trip ideal and should have a big say here.

I’ll be surprised if there isn’t more to come off a mark of 77 from ALHAMMAAM given his recent form. He has only run once over this trip on the AW so remains unexposed and was hampered at Kempton last time when trying to make ground. He is eased in class here so should find it slightly easier and with a smoother passage through I expect him to be finishing best of all. Coase finally got his head back in front winning over a mile at Lingfield and wasn’t disgraced up to this trip for the first time last week. He looks the danger off the same mark under Sean Levey. Danni California continues to run well too so can’t be entirely ruled out under Hollie Doyle. I can see the selection being well backed.

NAP

Chelmsford 5.45 Alhammaam (2/1)

Bangor 3.40 Kayfast Warrior (5/2)

Stepped forward from his debut run over hurdles to win well at Wetherby back in December; only third there last time but not disgraced; brings definite potential to the table now sent handicapping; big chance.

An opening mark of just 109 may well underestimate KAYFAST WARRIOR for Donald McCain. He is very much unexposed over hurdles and he did it well at Wetherby before having excuses last time. He should get a nice trail in and is expected to be coming home well under Brian Hughes. Patient Owner is lightly raced and ran with promise when third at Chepstow. A lot like the selection he is expected to do better now sent handicapping. John Betjeman continues to knock on the door and again ran well at big odds at Newbury so should be in the mix for a long way. Ben Brody is likely to go hard off the front and he has been in good form but I think he’ll help set it up for them, especially the selection.
