NAP – Best selection of the evening
Newcastle 6.45 Storm Asset (5/4)
Progressive sort who has won 2 of his last 3 and impressed again over this trip at Wolverhampton last month, running on well at the line; only up 3lb and definitely the one to beat again if this pans out favourably.
This looks another winnable opportunity for the thriving STORM ASSET and while 5/4 isn’t a massive price I actually think he’ll go off even shorter than that come post time so it might even represent a bit of value. This looks a weak race and if he reproduces that last run it may well prove sufficient to take this out. Hopefully he gets a toe in as I think he is better with a target to aim at. At this level a change of gear can be everything and he showed he has that in his locker last time. The danger looks to be Loose Lips who has only had 4 starts so he should have further improvement to come. If he steps forward I expect him to chase home the favourite. Token Trader and Hello Power best of the rest.

Doncaster 4.15 Corey’s Courage (13/8)
Unbeaten mare who had no problem making it 2-2 over hurdles at Uttoxeter last month, pouring it on late to win impressively; this obviously tougher under a double penalty but potentially smart so could still have too much.
With 3 starts and 3 wins under Rules COREY’S COURAGE is taken to remain unbeaten at Doncaster on Friday. This will definitely be tougher under a double penalty but she is clearly going the right way and with further improvement to come I think she can bring up a perfect hat-trick over hurdles. Nextdoortoalice should give them a nice trail into the race and I just expect her to stalk them under Aidan Coleman before lengthening her stride and getting on top late. The danger is Moonamacaroona who was only beaten a length over C&D last month. She has cheekpieces on now and has form claims but I do think she keeps a bit for herself and isn’t straightforward which makes her opposable.
